Energy Psychology - Meridian Tapping Techniques
Meridian Tapping Techniques (MTT) effectively forms the bridge between talk therapies and body therapies. MTT is a simple and powerful therapeutic tool that uses words to tune into an emotional disturbance, which is then balanced and cleared using acupressure tapping.
Our bodies are made up of energy. Some points on the body are more receptive to energy than others and in traditional Chinese medicine these points are called meridians. At different points in your life, your energy system can get disrupted or slowed by negative thoughts, experiences and traumas. Negative emotions occur along with these experiences and continue to block energy, often times creating physical problems in the body as well. We get the energy moving by tapping with the fingertips on specific energy meridian points.
The results are surprisingly quick and generally lasting. Strong emotions such as fear, anger, shame and sadness dissolve into clear thinking, enabling a fresh view and the ability to move forwards and get on with life. MTT is a simple and empowering technique that can be used together with a therapist, coach or by you for self help.
I use MTT as an additional technique with my therapy and coaching to help you discover your core beliefs, memories and patterns that are causing distress in your daily life. Not only can you let go of the pain, difficulties, physical issues, repetitive behaviors and negativity, but you can also receive skills in learning relaxation, forgiveness, reframing, and positive thinking.
